Sustainability Week

This years’ Sustainability Week is jam-packed with campaigns, discussions and events to create a more sustainable future. 🌍 Join April 19th through April 23rd, as the Green Office for KU Leuven and the Sustainability Office raise awareness for climate action! Monday, April 19th:
▪️ Oceans are rising red line action: All week, discover red lines on the buildings of KU Leuven. These red lines represent a rapid rise in sea level. More info:
▪️ Artivism Exhibition: All week, we will host an artivism exhibition consisting of ecofeminist art, poetry and short stories. More info:

▪️ Circular economy initiatives: Two campaigns to recycle and reuse old phones and lab coats will launch this week! Have an old phone or lab coat that you would like to donate for reuse? Keep an eye out for collection boxes around Leuven and Heverlee. More info coming soon

Tuesday, April 20th:
▪️ Oceans are rising panel discussion: As part of the oceans are rising initiative, we will host a panel discussion to explore sea level rise with the help of front line AO polar experts and and a sociologist focusing on climate induced migration. More info:

Wednesday, April 21st:
▪️ Green jobs fair: Students will be provided a platform to share their skills and ambitions with companies that focus on sustainability. We will also have a panel discussion of young people working in sustainability. More info:
▪️ Ecofeminism artivism discussion: The ecofeminism series will close with a discussion on ecofeminist art. We’ll explore the concept of artivism and what it means to combine activism with art. More info:

Thursday April, 22nd:
▪️ Rectorial candidates debate: The Sustainability Service will organize a debate between the rectors running in the 2021 rectoral elections. During this debate, we will present our concerns and wishes regarding climate policy at KU Leuven. More info coming soon!
▪️ Lunch lecture on integrated pest management: Prof. Hans Rediers will tell us about his research on integrated pest management and what we can learn from it to face future challenges. More info:
