Symposium: KU Leuven facing the future // Sustainability Week

? KU Leuven facing the future – from commitment to change ?

The student demonstrations all over the world make it clear again that a major societal transition towards a more sustainable society is needed. But how can and should a university like KU Leuven contribute?

During this symposium we will first introduce different initiatives at KU Leuven that are working in a cross-disciplinary way to develop evidence-based, sustainable solutions to complex problems. Then, critical questions will be asked to four panel members to trigger a debate about how the University can weigh on this sustainable change.

Free drinks and snacks will be provided during the break and the reception.

Panel members: Tine Baelmans (Vice Rector for Educational Policy at KU Leuven), Robbe Van Hoof (President of Student Council of KU Leuven), Anne Snick (Freelance researcher, writer, lecturer and mapping facilitator), Bart Vercoutere (President Raad van Deskundigen Leuven 2030)

Statements from: Hans Bruyninckx and Anuna De Wever

Partners: Sustainability Office KU Leuven, Green Office Living Lab, YouRSS, Honours Program Transdisciplinary Insights, OPO Science and sustainability (faculty of science) and Service Learning
