Yesterday, many students and staff members came to the Green Office for a lecture on the future of food.
The lecture was given by a panel of four experts: Bram Van De Poel (professor at the Department of Biosystems, KU Leuven), Stefaan De Smet (professor at the Department of Animal Sciences and Aquatic Ecology, UGent), Erik Matijs (professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, KU Leuven) and Jelle Goossens (Communications officer at Rikolto, formerly Vredeseilanden).
Apart from the panel discussions, the audience intervened with questions and insights from their own backgrounds.
The lecture was co-organized with FWO Vlaanderen (Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek) and the Vlaamse Wetenschapsagenda (Flemish Science Agenda). The aim was to formulate an answer to one of the topics on the agenda. Read more about the sustainable food topic here (article in Dutch).
